Beautification Award The Arts Guild of Old Forge, Inc. 2007 Beautification Award was presented at the Annual Neighbor Day Celebration and Closing Reception of Adirondack Theme Exhibition - "Leave Only Footprints: The Adirondack Wilderness and the Impact of Man" June 3, 2007 at the Arts Center/Old Forge. The Award was given to the Forge Corner owned by Paul and Gayle Ritz of Old Forge, NY.
Popular vote: CADK The patrons of the 55th Annual Central Adirondack Art Show at the Arts Center/Old Forge that was on display July 27 to August 12, 2007 chose William R. Kunzmann of Rochester for his acrylic ³Mossy Glen " from entries submitted from artists throughout the Central New York region and summer vacationers in the area.

Donald Patterson, AWS, NWS won Popular Vote the Third Time for his Watercolor at the Arts Center/Old Forge The patrons of the 26th Annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors at the Arts Center/Old Forge that closed on October 11, 2007 have chosen ³Winter Blues²² by Donald Patterson, AWS, NWS from New Hope, Pennsylvania as the Viewer¹s Choice Award. The most popular watercolor in the show is an 18 X 23 painting priced at $4,000 and was sold during the show.
Popular vote: Quilt Claire Oehler of Somers, NY is the winner of the popular vote by the patrons of the 21st Annual Northeast Quilts Unlimited Exhibition that closed on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Arts Center/Old Forge. ³Homage to Dear Jane² the winning full size quilt made by Clare Oehler in tribute to Jane Stickles, a Vermont quilter who designed and made the original quilt during the Civil War.
Quilt & Lithograph Raffle Winners The winner of the Arts Guild of Old Forge, Inc. Friendship Quilt Raffle winner was Joyce Lind of Port Orange, FL. ³Monet¹s Garden in Bargello² quilt was created by the Pointed Pine Quilters of Old Forge, NY.
Provie Fraccola of Frankfort, NY won the Stanley Maltzman¹s Lithograph: ³Woodcock² framed by Gallery North, Old Forge.
The winning tickets were drawn on November 18, 2007 at the Annual Holiday Bazaar held at the Arts Center/Old Forge.
Cookie Contest Winners Bryan Fairbrother of Old Forge won 1st prize for his Lemon Ricotta Cookies and 2nd prize went to Kathy Gardner from Old Forge, for her Peanut Butter Balls at the baking competition, ³The Best Little Holiday Cookie in the Adirondacks² held at the Arts Center/Old Forge on December 8, 2007 as part of the holiday events during ³Home for the Holidays.²Megan Greene won first in the children¹s division for her Jam Thumbprint Cookies and her sister Emily Greene won second prize for her Spritz. Both girls are from Old Forge. Judges were June Kiefer, Carole Clark, Michele deCamp and their grandchildren. |
