Color: A Quilter’s Theory
Lecture/Luncheon
with Sandra L. Dorrbecker, NQACJ - NQACT
Saturday, October 2, 10am
$20/$15 members
Color choice is a subject that can overwhelm or frighten many. This lecture explains where to start and how to deal with what to do next. You will learn how to find your comfort zone and then go beyond. What is missing within your color stash and why should you try to fix it? Discover how to work with inspirations, the basics, combinations, neutrals, and other colors you have an “extreme dislike” for. If you ever said, “I would have never thought of that color combination,” let’s have fun and share what you could do to explore more.

Guest Exhibitors
Hamid Irbouh
Ezmandarox: New Paintings 2009 - 2010
Hamid Irbouh’s paintings visually suggest that they are a part of something larger. His work embraces geometry and color to create paintings that feel limitless. The paintings create a dialog with quilts they hang beside by highlighting their mutual relationships to repetition and pattern.
Adirondack Regional Textile Artists’ Alliance (ARTAA)
Members broaden awareness of the art quilt and how it both resembles and differs from traditional quilts. Most members belong to local traditionally focused quilt guilds, but all find a new expressive outlet through their work in the ARTAA environment.
