Clear Creek Weavers are returning once again to help you make your own traditional Adirondack basket. You will have a choice of crafting a full size, 21” pack basket with harness or the day-pack size 16” pack basket with harness.

New England Tote Basket

A great basket to carry around just about anything. It is a plain weave using flat and half oval natural reed with sturdy canvas handles. You can even add an accent of color to match the handles. Color choices: Dark Blue, Chocolate Brown, Hunter Green. Some prior weaving experience is necessary due to the height and shaping involved. Finished Size: 6” x 12” x 10”

Two-Pie Basket

A wonderful low basket to carry or hold many items from gloves and mittens to magazines, even two pies. Plain weave basket using natural flat reed with an optional accent color and a sturdy wooden handle. No prior experience is necessary.

Arc-i-Texture Wall Hanging
Thursday, September 23, 9am - 4pm
Create your own unique 15” x 15” wall quilt featuring textured looking fabrics and couched circles (arcs). You’ll learn about composition, balance of color and size, fusing, and how to do facings instead of bindings. Learn how to couch those “perfect” circles that have become Carol’s trademark. You will finish these small wall quilts in the one day class! Please call for materials list.
Thread Painting
Friday, September 24, 9am - 4pm
Want to add more thread to create depth, but lack the expensive embroidery machines to do it? Carol will show you how to create your own thread painted pansy using the free motion zigzag method. You’ll also learn bobbin drawing, how to make lacy and confetti centers, and how to incorporate couching with these designs.
Free Motion Quilting Designs
Saturday, September 25, 9am - 4pm
Carol will teach 16 quilting design patterns. Learn and practice your free motion quilting with the feed dogs down. Learn to stitch with different decorative threads provided by Carol, and where each is best used. Even students who have had very little quilting experience are successful at using these methods. Give your quilts a unique flavor, style, and sparkle. Get all of those unfinished tops quilted quickly! Please call for materials list.

Paper Guided Piecing
Sat., October 16, 9am - 3:30pm
Instructor: Mary Knapp
Fee: $50/$40 members

In this workshop Mary will teach you a new technique, how to piece with precision by using paper as a guide. You will not be sewing through the paper and attaching it to your piece. Come learn how to prepare a foundation that is not torn from your block. This foundation can be reused many times.

Get Started Quilting!

This program is an introduction into the quilt world, and will cover the very basics of quiltmaking to get you started. There will be a short lecture and demonstration, of basic construction techniques. Participants are asked to bring a notebook, pen, camera and enthusiasm to class. So join us for a great morning and get started in the world of quiltmaking! Participants will each receive The Everything Quilting Book which has a retail value of $14.95.

Nuno Felting
Saturday, October 30, 1 - 4pm
Instructor: Sandi Cirillo
Fee: $30/$25 members
Materials: $8
This workshop will introduce students to nuno felting as they create a scarf made from wool and chiffon. Through the feltmaking process, the wool is fused to the chiffon using soap and water, and later other scraps of yarn, fabric, beads, etc. can be used to embellish the finished product. Participants will leave with a unique and beautiful scarf to keep or give as a gift.
